We call a child's mind small simply by habit. Perhaps, it is larger than ours, for it can take in almost anything without effort. It is similar to a sponge, which is open to soaking up huge amount of information from the environment around. Today's children are highly influenced by the visual media around them, which mainly comprises of cartoon characters. They easily get enraptured by the characters and idolize them in their small little world.

Barring a couple of exceptions, the Indian TV scene has been largely dominated by foreign characters in spite of a dozen Hindi and English language kids' channels. Mighty Raju is 7 years old, a 4-feet tall kid who is eagerly looked up to by children, and has become a regular source of meaningful entertainment to the toddlers of this country. As a backstory, Raju receives superhuman strength when his pregnant mother accidentally consumes a complex compound created by his scientist father. The premise of the program makes it so relatable for the kids, that after sometime, they start empathizing with the character.

Whenever there is trouble in the fictional town of Aryanagar, whenever anyone thinks of a superhero who can beat up the bad guys black and blue and outwit the evilest of villains, it is not just Raju, but the brave Mighty Raju to the rescue. Along with his pet, Moby the Dog, he makes sure that the people of Aryanagar fall asleep feeling peaceful and safe, something that makes every child feel safe and secure in their small little world, adding a touch of trust in how they communicate with people around them. With some really goofy characters like Cheeky the technical genius, Raju's best friends Gopi and detik Julie, and the police officer Khanna who is always well on time, just to arrive at the scene with handcuffs to arrest the villain; the show never fails to keep the children hooked on to it.

Creating a fair share of problems is Karati, Raju's arch nemesis and his scientist father's long time foe, whose only aim is to take over the city of Aryanagar by any way possible. In today's unimaginative and repetitive world of Indian cartoons, making a cartoon character feel like they are one amongst the little ones is a tough task, and it won't be an overstatement to say that the character of Mighty Raju has hit bullseye at this. The makers have also made sure that the little viewers are able to get the most out of their favourite characters, by creating interactive games, music tracks, books and action figures and other cool merchandize loved by kids.

If that was not enough, the makers have even listed identical apparels of Mighty Raju up for sale on their websites. The little ones would indeed find them to be a great deal, even if their parents don't!
